How much does being Dominican help when applying to colleges?

<p>So we all know that colleges want to increase diversity, right? So I was just wondering how beneficial being Dominican (from the Dominican Republic) would be when applying to colleges? I'm applying to colleges mostly in the Midwest and West, so I thought that being Dominican would improve my chances because the large majority of Dominicans live in the Northeast (particularly the Tri-State area).</p>
