Hey guys,

So I've been seriously considering UGA, but I'm a bit worried about my chances of getting in. I'm in the IB diploma program, and while I'm passing everything and learning a LOT (that is what IB is designed for, isn't it? :p), the sheer volume of work is tough on me and my weighted GPA is 3.6, which I'm not too excited about. That being said... literally all of my academic classes are IB (Right now as a junior, I take IB 20th Century Topics HL, IB English HL, IB Arabic SL, IB Biology HL, IB Math Studies SL, and good ol' IB Theory of Knowledge). Also, I took APUSH as a sophomore (got a 3 on the exam), and even though I'm not in the respective classes we are going to be taking the AP English language and Composition exam (which our English teacher has basically guaranteed us high scores in, based on his experience with us as writers), the AP Euro exam, AP Biology exam, and possibly more next year, as we've been told the IB classes we've taken will prepare us for them. I won't say what school I go to, but apparently we're one of the most respected IB programs in the country...

Needless to say, my schedule is packed with IB HL courses. My ECs are okay, but limited because of the academic demands (need to get home to work, ha). I know UGA doesn't look at non-Academic courses for GPA, but would a bunch of music classes be considered as ECs?

So even though my GPA isn't fantastic (my unweighted is actually slightly abysmal, ha) would I still be considered if I score high on all my IB exams and got the full diploma, and did exceptionally well on my ACT? I've taken a number of practice ACTs through the school and right now my projected score is a 34/35. AP and IB mocks are also faring well for me; lots of 4's and 5's for AP and while I'm not sure on those IB mock scores yet, I felt quite confident.

Also... anyone who has done the IB diploma program, which senior year electives would you recommend for UGA to look at? My heart is in IB Music but if it's not going to help me, I won't bother with it.

Thanks!
