how much does dropping below full time affect financial aid

<p>I'm stupidly only taking 12 credits this semester. I thought it would be better to take it easy since it's my first semester here. Well now I'm failing a class (that's not a part of my major) and I'm just too stressed out and I'm always anxious, which is affecting my performace in other classes. It's just not clicking. I want to drop it, but it would put me below full time. I'd only be taking 9 hours. I'm getting a good amount of FA; I'll list it</p>

<p>Texas Public Education grant
University transfer grant
Federal perkins loan (subsidized and unsubsidized)
federal pell grant
and one other small loan (I already paid this one off)</p>

<p>What can I do? How much would I have to pay back if I dropped it? I really don't want an F on my transcript.</p>

<p>I know I'll go see a FA counselor, or someone, but if anyone here has any info about my situation I'd love to hear it.</p>

<p>I am not sure about it, you need to talk to your academic advisor, but I believe that if this class is not your major you can change it to pass/fail or audit class.</p>
