How much does Emory care about second semester of senior year?

Does Emory have a reputation of rescinding a bunch of students or do they not care as long as you don't fill up your second semester with Cs/Ds/Fs?

If you mean you slid from a 4.0 to a 3.5, I doubt they’ll care.

Clearly, it is different if you got Cs/Ds/Fs.

No, Emory does not have a reputation for rescinding students. Frankly, Emory is a warm, welcoming place. My impression is that the admissions officers open each application with hopeful eyes. They want you to do well. They hope that students thrive and prosper and change the world. Just don’t hold up any gas stations with a 9 mm Beretta, now that I see your screen name.

Anything lower than a B (so a C or below) will get your application re-considered.

Blueink, I believe that is incorrect. Emory knows you are a smart cookie, hence why they accepted and wanted you to join its school. Furthermore, they know senioritis exists, and kid will be kids, so recinding a letter to a student who got a couple Cs is a bit extreme, especially since that kid probably has a difficult senior course load to have been accepted in the first place. As long as your GPA does not slide below 3.0, as in, a “B” average, you are in the clear, or so I have gathered over the last couple years on this site.

As for Cs, just don’t get them! You can do better than that! Why risk losing your chance at such a good school? But yeah, Bs are totally fine.

Now, Ds and Fs are a different story…

reconsidered =/= rescinded.

blueink is right
