My GPA is a bit low for Middlebury (roughly 3 points below the average accepted GPA from my school), but I am half arabic and indicated that in my application. How much do you think that would help?

Chelsea: I don't know what you mean by GPA being "a bit low". But I would not worry at this point. Its really your essays, including the supplemental, your graded paper, your senior grades that will speak for you. There may also be an opportunity for you to interview. You may want to take the opportunity to make a good impression in person and to express your enthusiasm. Where else have you applied?

Your ethnicity can be a positive point, but it won't be everything, especially since Middlebury is already pretty ethnically diverse. Be sure your essays are excellent if you really want a boost in the field.

midd is striving for more diversity, so it would be positive as long as your academic stats fall into the standards of midd. if your gpa is really low, then i would say it wouldn't be that helpful.
