How much does GW focus on the SAT? Do they count writing?

<p>My son fell in love with GW when we visited and it is now one of his top three picks. His SAT is far better (1990) than his GPA (about a 3.0) he had a very bad 9th grade year but has been on a steady incline since, and is in a full IB rigorous curriculum this year to offset 9th grade as much as possible.</p>

<p>Just curious if you know how heavily they weigh in on scores, as you know, some schools do heavily and others not. Also do they count the writing, he got a 690 and a 12 on his essay which bodes well for him as well. Any thoughts, please share. Thanks......</p>

<p>Not sure how heavily they weigh SAT scores but they definitely count all three sections. They even report averages out of 24000. i think last year it was 1940 or around there.</p>
