How much does GWU Cost?

Hey guys, I'm getting mixed numbers from various sources, but I was wondering if anybody has any clue as to how much a George Washington University undergraduate education costs? I'm getting costs from 50,000 to 100,000.

Various sources?

Just go to GWU’s website. The answer will be there.

You will find tuition rates listed on their web site. Housing costs depend upon which dorm you live in. One thing about GWU is that their tuition does not increase while you are there. The rate you pay when you are admitted is the same rate you pay at the end.

Yeah, I guess what I was confused about was that their website says 42,000 for one semester, not a year. So I guess the total cost for one year is somewhere around 84,000.

@mom - and thanks, that’s definitely good to know!

There is no way 84k a year is accurate. No way.

My google searching skills report 51-54k for a year in cost of attendance (that’s all costs considered- tuition, housing, books, etc).

Yeah, that’s what I thought. Their website says $42,860 for last year’s tuition costs, but then says the following:

“New GW students will pay this fixed tuition rate for up to a total of 10 consecutive semesters as long as the student maintains full-time continuous enrollment.”

So does that mean you pay that amount each semester? That’s how I at least took it.

Here’s the site:
[Costs of Attendance | Paying for College | Undergraduate Admissions | Apply | The George Washington University](http://www.gwu.edu/apply/undergraduateadmissions/payingforcollege/costsofattendance)

I understand your confusion. The tuition is $42,860 per year, and this rate is fixed for five years, or ten semesters.

You might as well take out an entire mortgage, if you plan on going to GWU. It’s one of the most expensive schools in the country next to Bucknell, Georgetown, USC, Stanford and the Ivies.
