how much does it help if one of your parents work at the University of Chicago?

for admissions?

I'm not sure about University of Chicago, but if your parent is a teacher at a school like Princeton you're almost guaranteed admission and your tuition cut in half.

Yeah, it depends on the position. If your parent is a receptionist or janitor, don't expect any special treatment.

It can also help though if your parent isn't a teacher, but is actually a doctor or something in their hospital or research center.

Definitely check to see if you're eligible for a tuition break if you do get in.

my father is an associate professor at the University of Chicago, and i go get my tuition waivered but im mainly concerned with admissions

One of your PARENTS is in the ADMISSIONS OFFICE??? wow...so your mom's going to review your application?

no, my father is an associate professor. unfortunately thats not in the admissions office. im just wondering if that helps my application.
