How Much Does Junior/Senior Year matter compared to the first two?

I read this in one of the links you provided:

“For freshman applicants, if the exact course in which a D or F grade was originally earned is repeated and a grade of C or better is earned, the original grade will not be included in the GPA calculation. When a student seeks to clear the subject deficiency of a D or F grade through validation, both the original grade and the grade earned in the higher-level course will be used in calculating the GPA.”

I got an F in chemistry sophomore year. I got a B plus in it junior year. THis means the sophomore year grade wont count?

Without that class my Sophomre GPA is a 3.0, or a 3.5 uc, and my junior year a 4.2 for uc. How much of an improvement is a 3.85 uc gpa over a 3.5?
