I am applying to schools with the hope of getting good merit aid, since we don’t qualify for need based aid and I really don’t want to go to my state school. Both my parents are Bentley grads. Do you think my stats warrant any kind of merit aid? I appreciate the help.

GPA: 3.88/4.0 unweighted … 4.1 weighted
Class Rank: 22/540
SAT’s: 590M, 640CR, 690W
Activities/EC’s: NHS, Competitive Dancer, part time employment, many hrs of community service, school band, play several instruments.

I'm sure you will be admitted, but am not sure about merit aid, given your SAT scores, which are only slightly above average for Bentley. Why don't you are your parents call up the admissions office and ask? In my experience, many schools are very forthcoming with this kind of info.

Hmmm :-( so EMM1 you're saying they base merit aid more on SAT's than rank, gpa and ec's. That's a bummer. I know my SAT scores aren't stellar, I'm not a great standardized test taker.

edit... I'm also applying to Bentley and am hoping for merit aid. my scores are similar to Bella23, but I am in the top 2% of my class with many honors and AP classes......

If merit aid if anything like it was last year, you will get a 1/3 tuition scholarship. However, like I said, that was last year. With Bentley quickly rising in status, more qualified applicants are applying, and you may not get anything
