How much does legacy help?

I’m a Junior in HS and seem to have similar credentials to other people accepted into MU. However for Farmers I am not so sure.
I have the ACT scores for the program, but on the cusp/ lower end in other areas. Will Legacy be enough to boost me in?(both parents) - they also went to the business school

Also: They donate a decent amount of money every year, no clue if a few thousand a year will help though.

I think your fate is in your own hands. You still have time to boost your GPA. Given Farmer acceptance stats, 75% of students have at least about a 3.70 GPA, so that is what you must aim for. Miami does look favorably upon a progressively improving GPA. Also, visiting the campus repeatedly and establishing personal relationships with individual Farmer professors may help. The more personal effort you can show Farmer of your interest will likely help. Overall, one-third of Miami students have a family connection - parents, siblings, grandparents, aunts/uncles etc. Legacy status may help you, but it’s hard to know for sure given the competition for admission to Farmer. Relying alone on your family connections and their giving is risky, especially when you have time to improve your chances. As a Farmer alum, I will say the experience is worth pulling out all the stops to improve your admission chances.
