How much does legacy status AND an ED affect below average scores?

(Sorry if this is in the wrong section, first post!, Don't think this is appropriate for "chance section" due to lack of actual data to use)
Personally, I have had 2 brothers graduate from Amherst College (Does this count as double legacy in a way?) and also find that Amherst is my dream school. I don't have a problem with ED and if it helps my chances into getting in, I would love that. I have yet to finish senior year so I can't yet give GPA etc. I am just wondering if lets say, I get a 2250+ on the SAT, 3.5 GPA(unweighted), am treasurer for a school club that goes to a local hospital for cleft palate patients to assist/volunteer and also 2 years of mandatory military service(my nationality forces me into this, should also mention I am an international student). How much of a shot do I have at getting into Amherst?

I don’t think those things will help much for a coming from behind position.

Just would like to add this in, but over the next 2 years ill be taking around 6-8 APs. (at a school which only offers them in 11th grade, and only offers 14 APs - not sure if that is a lot or not.)

Siblings at some schools can sometimes help and ED of course gives you somewhat of a boost, but they rarely make up for substandard stats and as an international, you have to know that your chances are reduced anyway. Always figure that ED gives the qualified candidate a better shot, it doesn’t cause them to lower their standards.

You never know what it is that causes them to accept you, so you have a chance, but have a Plan B. And I would say that to anyone applying to a school with an acceptance rate like Amherst’s, unless you were a recruited athlete or developmental.
