I had a 3.88 GPA freshman year, however I showed consistent improvement and scored a 35 on the ACT. I am entering my senior year, will that prevent my admission from UMich? In general, how much weight is placed on freshman performance by Michigan?
Assuming that you are talking about an unweighted GPA of 3.88, I don’t understand why you feel that is too low to be a viable candidate for Michigan (especially when combined with what you imply are even stronger grades in later years and a 35 on the ACT). With those stats, you sound like a strong candidate. Good luck.
Michigan does not take freshman gpa into consideration (Maybe a tiny bit but it isn’t counted toward your application goal. BTW a 3.88 UW gpa is good… as long as you dont come from a completely terrible school
