does getting to nationals in DECA/FBLA?BPA help significantly in the admissions process?
“Significantly”… Are you going to be a business major? What school? No one factor will get you into college! They look for well-rounded people. That may include extracurriculars like that at some colleges, and may not at others. Really varies a lot. It’s not going to get you into college, but it certainly can’t hurt.
Going to Nationals for FBLA is not really that prestigious because 9,000 people go every year. Placing, on the other hand, is pretty good, though still not as impressive as something like USAMO/Intel/ToCs/RSI, etc
Are you in Nashville at Nationals right now?
Being the best in something you love helps significantly.
If you are top 9000, that is not necessarily the best.
team nationals is not too significant (unless you had a major role), but FBLA Nationals looks great for business majors, comp sci, information tech etc. depending on your event. PLACING at nationals is very important also and will look great! However, it should be in something you enjoy and don’t expect one national award to make you a shoo-in to college. Even if you qualified for USAMO and were a team member, you could get denied admission to top schools if you do nothing else/have bad grades/poor test scores…
