How much does Rice admissions REALLY look at test scores?

So, after recieving my test scores not too long ago I have to say that I'm really disappointed. My composite for the ACT was 25, 660 on Bio-E, and 650 on Lit. I won't even go into my ACT writing score. (I personally think there was a mistake. There's no way I could have done as bad as I did).

Is Rice going to see my scores and automatically reject me? Or will they give me a chance and look at the rest of the application?

They’ll definitely look at the rest of your application. Scores alone cannot make or break an applicant- they want to know you, not just how you did on one test. Your essays, ECs, high school record, and recommendations will be very important factors in your application. Good luck!

Seriously consider retake if you have signed up for December SAT/ACT. 25 ACT is going to hurt very badly unless you are on some kind of national championship team or have comparable recognitions.
As Rice 25th to - 75th ACT is 30-34.

Rice looks at everything

But remember, it is a top school with a good reputation and a selective adcom, so retake the SAT/ACT.

A 25 will not automatically reject you, but it will be a huge disadvantage
