I know that getting bad grades or taking easy classes in Senior Year is bad but does maintaining straight As and taking even more AP classes help a lot? I heard that sophomore year and junior year counts the most and I’ve always taken the most amount of AP classes for those 2 years. I took 2 APs, 2 Honors in Sophomore year and right now as a junior I am taking 5 AP classes. Next year as a senior, I can take 7 AP classes. I was wondering if it will help a lot if I take 7 next year or am I just wasting my time? And assuming I get straight As for all 7 APs.
colleges look at your planned schedule, some also ask for a mid-year report. Seeing that you are continuing to challenge yourself won’t hurt.
Does senior year matter as much as junior and sophomore year though? Because if I take 7 APs next year it’ll be much tougher than this year and I don’t want to do that if it only helps me by a little. Do they only scan your senior year and make sure that your grades didn’t drop and that you are still taking AP courses?
Also a quick question on an unrelated note, does taking peer tutoring make your transcript/application look worse? This year I took 5 AP courses and a semester of Health (graduation requirement) and for 2nd semester (which is this semester), I am still taking the same 5 AP Courses but instead of health I am taking peer tutoring. I heard peer tutoring looks bad on a college transcript but it’s too late for me to get out of it now.
