<p>If you have just about 100% accuracy on the grammar part of the writing section, how much is needed on the essay to get a 800? Someone I know got a 8 on the essay and still got a 800, but someone else got 690 with a 11 on the essay.</p>
<p>Tests vary from month to month. Usually though, an 8/9 is needed for 800 assuming 100% on MC</p>
<p>the essay is worth 30% and the MC is worth 70%. It is possible to get an 800 with a 10 at least (b/c i got a 790 with a 10 essay and a 79 on MC cuz i got 1 wrong)</p>
<p>for the first two SATs i took, i got the exact same score except writing went down by 20 pts. the only difference was that my essay went down one point (same mc, amazingly). so one essay point=20...so essay's 240/800....exactly 30%.</p>
