How much does this add on to the chances.. and HOW MUCH DO THAT? Help me!

Well, i already have a thread about my chances.. but just out of curiosity, i wanted to get some opinoins on individual elements that can dramatically help an applicant... So, How much do these things help in addition to good grades..SAT's, and other crap:

1) Captain and the top player of a varsity sport
2) Lot of Physics awards (my major will be physics)
3) Co-captain of Quiz Bowl team
4) A great recommendation from the Department head of Material Science and Physics at Rutgers University (definately!)
5) Another great recommedation from a college coach (most likely!)
6) Faculty level Material science research
7) Being published in a credited journal
8) Being asian >.<

I would say that 1, 2, and 6 will really help. Number 3 and 8 won't help in any way, and the recommendations will give a small boost.

haha, thank you very much
Wouldnt recommedations help relatively more since it is coming from a college professor?
and what about being published?

Thank you

come on guys, any more opinions?!?!

My teacher who was also an admissions officer at UCSD said that being on a quiz team/science bowl team/ect looks really good on your app, better than a varsity sport.

^For UCSD, but not for every school.

I'm wondering how 5 is at all relevent?

I dont know how or why 5 is relevant.. what I think is relevant isnt what you guys think.. lol, thats y i'm asking for your opnions!!!!!

Any comments will be appreciated
