How much does this help?

Hey guys! Im new here but I have kind of a unique question.
I am applying to Yale SCEA. Many members of my close family have attended (neither parent), and my aunt is a pretty involved alumna. She offered to contact the university on my behalf should I apply. When I told her I applied, she sent an e-mail to the development office detailing my candidacy and expressing her interest in my application. The development office then forwarded the letter with their comments along to the dean, and notified my aunt that while the university has a merit system, the dean closely tracks their recommendations. I was wondering whether this should reassure me that I will likely get in early or its just a drop in the lake.
My stats are competitive regardless of my legacy connections, but for those who are skeptical, here they are:
2340 SAT
780 on World History, Chem, and Physics SAT 2s
3.9 GPA at good private school (top 5%)
5 on 4 APs
Leadership in extracurriculars that focus on government
Great teacher recommendations, and a stellar supplemental recommendation from an employer (I read it, it was very good)
Great counselor rec (she likes me very much)

Thank you all for your input - I realize that decisions are in only 12 days but please indulge me and ease my nerves!

Sounds very promising :stuck_out_tongue: but there’s also no way to predict anything. 12 more days, you can do it. Good luck (:

Yale’s definition of a legacy is a parent attending the college or a parent attending one of the grad school’s. That said, it sounds like your aunt did everything she could for you, but you’ll just need to sit tight for the next week until you find out. Best of luck to you!

Thank you @gibby‌! I appreciate you taking the time to respond to my inquiry, I am well aware of your expertise in this area and activity on the site. I also have a brother who attended who knows many people on the admission committee (he is 26 and so graduated with many of them), and they said that having my having a brother and several cousins who did well there was a very big positive, but I understand it is not a traditional “legacy.”
Thanks @sparkl3‌ - I really hope its promising. These coming days are stretching out before me and seem infinite, but I know I can do it
