How much does your cum. gpa matter compared to your core?

<p>If you have a good core gpa (like say 3.9-4.0) but your cumulative gpa is a bit lower (like 3.8-3.7ish) because you have a lot of A minuses in electives/religious classes/gym/etc. does it play a big role?</p>
