How much does your flagship state university cost?

Room and board at PSU-UP this year is $7400; $1890/semester for the top meal plan and $1810/semester for a double. Also, tuition and fees for a OOS freshman are $22,712 which brings the total for OOS students to $30,112 for the 2006-2007 school year. This, of course, does not include books, travel, spending money, etc. (I wish it was only $27,954.)

Many out-of-staters want to go to PSU because several of it's colleges are highly ranked nationally. It's College of Engineering ranked 16th (2005 U.S. News) and almost all it's engineering curriculums are ranked in the top 20. In fact, PSU's Industrial Engineering program is usually ranked 3rd or 4th in the nation.

Also, the Smeal College of Business undergraduate program tied for 20th in 2005 (U.S. News) and was ranked 12th among public universities in 2005.

Also, the Eberly College of Science is ranked fairly highly.

Although it IS quite expensive for OOS, some of us think it is worth the cost for some of its programs.
