<p>Just wondering, because all of posted weighted GPA's on peoples chances threads are much higher. At my school, an AP or HOnors course gives you .5 of a credit on a 4.0 scale. Is this standard or not?</p>
<p>A lot of schools have different systems. My school adds +.333 to all honors and AP classes on a 4.0 scale. Some schools give +1 to AP and +.5 to honors. Other schools have different systems. Don't worry about it.</p>
<p>At my school we grade 1-7, 7 being the best. IB HL classes get an extra .5 added to them.</p>
<p>Nothing for Honors, 1.1 instead of 1 credit for single period APs, 2.2 for Double Period APs. And this year, 1.05 for MultiVar Calc, Diff. Equations, and 4th year Language classes.</p>
<p>Our AP classes are multiplied 1.04 on a 100 point scale, honors classes are weighted by 1.02.</p>

+13 AP/IB</p>

+ 10 for Honors, AP, IB SL, IB HL, or college dual enrollment</p>

<p>It definitly depends on how many APs you are talking about, 6 APs in one year is definitly tougher than IB program where you only need a couple HL courses per year, even with the EE.</p>
<p>But on the original topic my school is 100 pt system APs give you +7, honors nothing</p>
<p>on a 100-pt scale, my school adds 2pts for honors, 5pts for AP.</p>
<p>4.0 scale, A = 4.0, B = 3.0, & so on.</p>
<p>exception is for AP/Honors classes: A = 5.0, B = 4.0, etc.</p>

<p>and so on...add up the points for each class, divide by number of classes that count for GPA, then divide by number of semesters...this is our weighted GPA.</p>
<p>My school averages GPAs normally and then adds a .036 on for every AP and you can only get up to 8 add ons. It kind of sucks because a B in an AP class will put you below an A in a regular class so it only helps if you do just as well in the AP class as you would in the regular class.</p>

<p>Our school multiples the honor by 1.02 and AP by 1.05. It is sort of unfair how honors classes are given so much but that's life.</p>
<p>our school has a 4.0 is an A in a standard class, or a B in an honors/AP/IB class, and an A in honors/AP/IB is a 5.0.. </p>
<p>we also use a funky grading system in that an A is 92-100.. damn system.</p>

In my school to get an A, it is 95-100</p>
