okay, so what would be, in your opinion, a reasonable amount of EC's? i.e. how many sports, clubs, volunteering activities etc.

as many as you find interest in

but never have time for, I don't want to put my grades at stake by putting too much time into EC's but seeing how college admissions are, I don't want to end up with too little either so ya

See, there's this little thing called time management. It will be your bestest friend.

Buy a planner. Try and do ECs that balance out well.

For example: I played golf every year except for this (senior) year, which was a fall sport, and then I did the Spring Musical. So golf was over by the time my whole schedule was swamped with musical rehearsals.

I also do several clubs (I'll probably be president or VP of a couple this year) that only meet during school or at the very most do stuff on weekends.

It's tricky to find, but once you hit that balance it's amazing.

Do as many EC's as you want to do, and then just use your planner to manage your time so you can get everything done.

that'd be sweet if more clubs met during the school or lunch at my school, I live pretty far from the school so it's hard to get a ride most of the time...thanks for posting though, how much clubs do you do?

Let's see...
Mondays-GirlsTalk (most likely I'll be pres. or VP this year)
Tuesdays-Cultural Assembly Committee
Wednesdays-DaCapo (vocal music club)
Thursdays-Invisible Children Club
Fridays-Musical Theatre Club

I'm also very involved in my school's choir and musicals. Plus I played golf for 3 years, and I took at least 6 classes all 3 years. So you can see how I would have to pretty much learn time management quick or be screwed (especially since golf takes a LONG time).

wow, every club you're in is nonexistent at my school, maybe I should just go to the first meetings all the ones at my school and stick with the ones I like...and watch my mom's reaction when she learns that she's gonna have to drive me from school everyday...lol, you're into theatre? I like art better and I have absolutely no idea where this is going

XD yeah pretty much if you can think it up at my school there's a club for it. I believe there was even a Coloring Club this year.

lol get your Driver's License as soon as you can, it will become your biggest asset.

Oh. I forgot. I also go to Christian Club on Thursdays (Invisible Children only meets every once in a while).

Yeah, we don't have any of those clubs either...

I think last year there were over like 100 clubs or something. There's one for everything, not even kidding.

I can't actually drive by myself until pretty much next year...I think that's how it is here

Wow, that sucks. :( We get our permit at 15 and a half and then we have to have a parent in the car until we get our license at 16. And even then we can't drive other minors for the first year (I can on November 6th! W00t! I got my license a little late though.)

ya it does...

You have 100 clubs at your school? I think we only have around 20.

around 5 that's active and another 5 that meets once a year (the first meeting)

Our school has 20 clubs with only like 5 people in each. woo-hoo -__-

I also go to a really large school though, there's about 4,000 kids.

that's like over 4 times my school, geez

lucky! We only have like 10-15 clubs at my school.
