how you spent your summer

famous new yorker

poem

2050 movie

basically a short version of why NYU

How much emphasis will be given to these five short answers? I found it hard to fit all my thoughts into 500 characters. I liked my New Yorker and Why NYU answers, but I'm not too sure about 1 and 4.

My Common Application essay that I sent to NYU was pretty good, I'd say. I just wasn't able to write short answers that were as good as other schools' "why" essays that gave me a whole page to express my thoughts.

But the bottom line -- question on my title?

from what I know, emphasis varies for what college you are applying to:

for Stern and CAS, your scores and GPA/rank will be more important. If you are applying to other schools such as tisch, gallatin, or steinhardt, then more emphasis will be placed will be placed on the supplements and the essay. However your numbers will also be important. However this is just from what I’ve heard from other people and from a cousin that currently is enrolled in Stern. I could be wrong so don’t take my word for it.

It is pretty important as is everything you send to NYU because it is a holistic process.

i went through the same thing…whipped out an amazing poem in 10 minutes…thats probably the only thing im proud of lol…fingers crossed
