how much emphasis....

does Georgetown put into the essay and interviews versus test scores and grades?
For example:
I have ok test grades (within the mid-range), but definitely a lower GPA due to a serious courseload and the multiple transfer of schools (a new one each year due to moving).
Could stellar essays and an incredible interview help to overshadow my not-so-hot grades?
Thanks :)

stats for "serious courseload" please

all honors/ap
last year I was at an intense private school and took one of (if not) the most challenging courseloads there.
I have taken only 6 AP's, but that's because I was limited the past two years on my options

stats on scores and gpa please. I think they will be sympathetic to your constant moving/workload mix.

3.5 UW, 30 ACT
I sure hope so :)

Just referenced my school's database. We had kids go in with a 3.8 WEIGHTED and a 1200 SAT(/1600).

By our records, 31 is the average ACT score and 4.56 is the average WGPA. Your chances are not bad if you indeed took entire honors/AP load which would put your WGPA in the range of 4.3-4.5 right?

And no one from our school does rowing because the only place to do that would be in the freaken Potomac in front of GTown XD

I have no idea how to weight it haha. I have had all A's and B's except for a 78 last year in honors precalculus....yuck.
I will die if that becomes my downfall hah.

well, fortunately the admissions office gives no justification for their decision so no need for dying =)

I suggest a well-diversified approach to college. You are building a portfolio of schools so don't put all your eggs in one basket. If you like DC, check out some other schools there. If major eastern city is the focus, shoot an app to some NY schools/Boston schools.

Give yourself some choices and leeway.

yeah I have...I just would like to have all of my eggs end up in a certain Hoya basket... :)
We will see!

^ me too :)
