How much finacial aid could i get

im a high school junior with a 2.9 gpa. i don't know if i can get any academic scholarships but i am going for need based scholarships. i am the first of my family to be born in the united states and hopefully i want to be the first to go to a university as well. my parents are divorced and they are not in the middle class or higher class at all. my dad makes around 10-20k a year as a taxi driver. my mom lives in a different state and she is a house cleaner. i live with my dad. i plan on applying to state schools next year because they aren't that expensive as private schools. i am i the national art honor society and i am on the track team at my school. i already registered for the Sat test in may and i might take the ACT in summer

with this much info right now would it help me pay for the universities i want to go to such as: Sam Houston State University, Tarleton state university, University of texas at permian basin, Stephen F. Austin state university, and Texas State

i am willing to do work study in college if i have to. but one option i don't want is having to go to a community college for two years and transfer to a university. i really don't want to do that. i want to go straight to a university.

The first thing to do is to find the Net Price Calculator on each college website so you can find out an estimate of how much you will be expected to pay for Texas public college. You can try it out of a couple of private colleges too.

Read the financial aid section on the website of each college for opportunities to apply for scholarships.
