how much financial aid do you think id get in duke

hey, so I want to (try) applying to Duke ED next year. I think its possible for me to get in, but the problem is that ill have to go even if i cant pay for it. Right now my parents make about 60k combined, but thats because my dad is out of a job atm. If lets say by the time im in college my parents make lets say 100k, for 4 people, how much financial aid would duke give me. (its 100% need base, or so it says)

Financial aid calculators are your best friend…

Bottom right corner, click ‘Calculator’. And by the way, DO NOT apply to anywhere ED if you need financial aid… there’s this huge thread on the implications of financial aid/EDing on the parents forum discussing this right now. Quite the eye opener.

Keep in mind that the posted “Financial Aid Calculator” on the Duke website is simply a link to the widely-used CollegeBoard EFC calculator. If I remember correctly, it only considers FAFSA, so its estimate might not be entirely accurate (at least it wasn’t for my case).

I agree with superfly09–i’m currently attending Duke and all of my friends who got in ED are paying full tuition. I’ve also heard from some people that you CAN decline ED even though you’re not supposed to-- technically, colleges can’t force you to attend their school if you can’t afford it. I’d say your best bet would be to call the financial aid office:
