How much Financial Aid/Grants do Students usually receive?

I was wondering how much aid freshmen usually receive if their income is below $100,000? Also do the UCs use the income that you indicate on the actual UC app or the FAFSA form when they consider you for scholarships/aid? Thanks for your info! :)

how about those with 0 income.

Students who are “low-income” ($80k or less) will typically get generous financial aid (the less your family makes, the more money you can expect). The absolute minimum out-of-pocket you should expect to pay is probably about $8k to $10k (it will vary depending on the UCs budget the student fees for the upcoming year).

The UCs have implemented a new initiative to offer financial aid to “middle-class” students ($80k to $120k; Berkeley upped the limit to $140k). Berkeley has announced that its initiative should provide $3k to $12k to qualifying “middle-class” students depending on income.

Is that “middle-class FAFSA offering” for student this year or the next?

I believe it is for this year (entering Fall 2012).
