How much finical aid would I get here?

Hello,

First, thanks for reading my post. Anyway, I'm planning on attending this school and I was wondering what kind of finical aid money "other people"/"I" will get. The site says it costs around 27 K (a year) to go to SB if you want to live on campus. I'm a transfer so I will be going there for 2 years. My parents make around 50K a year so I will get the Blue+Gold plan which covers all costs except housing. I'll also have the option for work study.

So my question is, can I afford to go here? If you are going here and in a similar situation, how do you do it?

Leave a response, even if it's stupid.

You’re definitely going to get some kind of grant with some loan offers

Confused619,

Are you in a similar situation? How much do you pay?

UCSB financial aid department has an “Aid Estimator” calculator. It will give you a rough idea of what kind of aid you can expect.

Yeah, I saw that and when I calculated for myself I was short by about 1000 a year (with work study and loans)

No I can’t say I’m in a similar situation. I wish lol

I’m stuck in the middle class -> too much for grants, not nearly enough to pay for anything

I WISH I only had a $1000 bill, you’ll learn that is nothing for college expenses. You can easily solve that with a small loan. Don’t worry about this stuff too much now. You can figure this all out once you’ve been accepted.

Well, I’m TAGing this place so I hope I can worry about this stuff (as long as the TAG goes as planned).

Oh ok awesome. You can also look into scholarships!
