Hello,

I was just wondering how much emphasis is placed on ACT writing scores. I know that some colleges require the score and others don't, but for the ones that do, is it a point of focus? The way I think about it is wouldn't admissions offices realize that you are writing on a blind prompt in 30 minutes after taking a 4 hour test? Is it really possible that they could look at a score and assume someone is a poor writer?

I'm pretty tired so I'll get to the point. When I took the ACT, I received:

35 W, 36 M, 33 R, 36 S, and 6 W

I feel as though my writing score would indicate that I am at least a decent writer. Will I just be able to try and rock the admissions essays or will I have to take the test again?

Cheers.
