How much free time on average do you have on a weekday?

In other words, how much time do you not spend in class or studying?

Also, your major would be helpful. Credit hours would be even better.

McCombs - 14 hours, inv banking internship, tech start up = 2 hrs free time on weekdays and maybe one day on the weekend that I have free.

Thanks for your reply and, if I may say, you are quite accomplished. :)

this is probably not typical but I would estimate I have about 10 hours a day of free time on average. I sleep for about 6-8 hours and class+studying takes another 6 hours so that leaves me with around 10 hours a day (give or take) to do what I want.

But keep in mind I am a freshman only taking 13 hours with easy classes who has poor study habits

16 credit hours freshman
1-2 hours of free time before I sleep
1 hour for food
GPA (est): 3.81

16 credit hour Sophomore/Junior
1 hours for food the rest are spent studying/doing HW.
Engineering major. Barely 4 hours of sleep.

16 hour freshman, English major. I’d say on average, I usually have about three hours of free time a day - but honestly, it varies. Towards the beginning of the semester I had as much as five hours open, but lately I’ve been lucky to have any time off that doesn’t involve sleeping or eating.

I realize some majors require a ton more work than others, but nearly everyone’s study methods could use some streamlining. I highly recommend this book to help you create more free time in your day while maintaining high grades…

Don’t take me as an example because I don’t have the work ethic to follow that book but I have heard some amazing success stories from using its strategies and the author interviewed hundreds of ivy league 4.0 students to compile this book of the most effective methods

Loving the replies. Very helpful because I’m planning out my course-load for next semester as an incoming freshman for the spring semester.

First semester freshman in EE. 14 credit hours that’s realistically 20 hours with labs and TA sessions. I haven’t been pressed for time, but I haven’t been studying as much as I should be either. Although I don’t know any other freshmen who are just constantly studying/in class. I’m sure it gets harder :/

I think freshman year was hardest for me. It got easier after that! I was an engineering major, also.
