<p>I'm going to be starting school soon at fiu which has over 35000 students and will be living in a dorm but am worried that i wont be able to make any friends because I'm new and everyone already knows one another. Also I'm leaving on Jan. 6 and would like to know if time went by quickly for you during your last months at home.All serious answers appreciated. thank you!</p>

<p>At a school that large, you are going to find plenty of opportunities to meet people. Start by researching student groups now and sign up for the email lists of groups that interest you.</p>
