Ok, assuming that everything is stellar in my application (just assuming), how would a 720 in chemistry and a 750 in literature hurt me as SAT IIs? I have the feeling that this is the only thing that is really horrible about my application. *Assuming *that all else is fine, could these scores bring about my rejection, and how definite is it? (i'm international btw)

I'd say don't worry about it. I doubt they would reject you based on your scores, which though not 800s, are by no means low.

Besides, at this point there's nothing you can do. Just relax. Decisions will come very soon. Don't think too much about it - you're only going to drive yourself crazy.

oh boy...well first things first, any score 700 or above is very very good. So maybe a 720 isn't perfect, but let's be real...do you really think Yale is only going to take people with perfect test scores? All an 800 in Chemistry could mean is that someone took an extra few hours to study...which doesn't necessarily make them a superior applicant compared to someone with a 750 (who, as demonstrated by the score, still obviously knows the material).
I am currently a student at Yale right now, and TRUST ME, most people I know (including me) had several of these "oh-so-godawful" sub-800 scores, and still got in. Yale looks at the whole picture, not just a combination of numbers. They don't expect everyone to be a 2400-scoring, Stuyvesant valedictorian, 5th-generation legacy, Siemens winner, recruited athlete. In fact, most people I know are "normal smart people"...in that they didn't do anything like cure cancer, but are honestly just veryvery smart, intellectually curious, motivated and enthusiastic people. So take a deep breath and relax...if you're a good student and a good person (lol) you'll get accepted into a bunch of good schools, even if one of them isn't your first choice.

P.S. If it helps, I was recently showing my old application to a high school senior, and realized that I had a very obvious, very embarrassing typo in one of my essays. We both laughed for about 10 minutes...and obviously Yale didn't penalize me for my carelessness...they certainly wouldn't penalize you for not-perfect test scores! Good luck :-)

I had a 720 lit and 750 math ii...

I think that 700+ on any SAT or SAT-II gets you "in the game" and gets you admitted to state schools and large schools that are numbers-driven. HYPS etc. can afford to be more choosy, in order to build a stellar, well-rounded class. One in-depth extracurricular talent or interest and honest, revealing-but-focused essays are what will distinguish you from others with a 2100+ SAT score. Good luck!

emmm... those are really good scores....do you really think they're that horrible?

Why did you take only two Subject Tests?
I think the most of the Yale SCEA applicants took at least three.
BTW, your scores are more than very competitive and strong.
Good Luck!

All of my MUNs, debate tournaments and forensics competitions were on SAT weekends, and priority-wise, MUNs and debate are more important to me than SATs...so i only had the time to take two

Most people took 3? uh-oh...I only submitted the ACT with 2 SAT IIs...

Yale only requires 2 SAT IIs this year. In prior years, they required 3. I would be astonished if there was any problem at all with having exactly the number they require.
