How much have you written? All the essays, the common application, the short answer, the resume, the trashed drafts, the "Why?" essays, the note to the admission officers when you discovered you misspelled Yale as H a r v a r d. Total.

I have written approximately 14700 words excluding slight drafts. 0.4 productivity rate.
I have also spent about 2 full packages of printing paper. I killed a tree.

Rewrote all the supplement questions about 1000 times. I wrote 5 essays, the final of which i wrote starting at 1:00am on the deadline day and finishing at 11:55pm deadline day just in time. hehehe. procrastination=win.

i didn't really put much effort into applying. i think it is a horrible process that should be fixed. it ruins kids lives. the u.s, university system has issues.

well if that isnt much effort, then i didn't even apply. i think i wrote maybe 2000 words total? only 1 scrapped essay, barely any rewrites.

I counted this up with a friend who said he had written more than I had during the application process. My total: 32 essays, short answers, and resumes for 9 schools. His total: 16 essays, short answers, and resumes for 3 schools.
I knew I would win. :)

To be fair, though, most of my schools were more liberal arts oriented than his pre-professional schools. AND he's already into JHU ED, whereas I have absolutely no clue where I'm going/will want to go come decision time.

All of this writing better be worth it at that time.
