How much have YOUR SAT scores improved?

I am a rising senior and I do not do very well on the SATs. I have taken it twice and only improved 120 points. I would like to raise my score another 300 points when I take it again in October or November... is this realistic?? How much have YOUR scores improved??

I took it twice. And got exactly the same score. No matter, though – taking it again helped my superscore out a whole lot.

went from a 1980 to a 2240 with 3 weeks of intense studying. I’m sure that if you study a lot and do a lot of practice tests, you could increase your score a lot.

I have two whole months My score is generally 1650-1740
I have taken a real sat and my score was 1720 in may
I have two or 3 months to prepare is it possible for me to
jump to a 2200?
I have books and stuff, Im just not sure what books i should use in order.
Im not a slow learner nor am I super fast.
(2200 and no superscoring just a one time deal… low CR score)

started with 1790 (My CR+M was 1380, I didn’t know grammar). Now I have 2200 exact. (1470 CR+M) Approximate time, 8 months between, 3 months was actual studying (10 practice tests).

1730 first time - no studying
1880 second time - no studying
taking it again in October, gonna buy the blue book and actually put in some effort :)

Is it best to just study by doing multiple practice tests? Should I just buy the SAT book of practice tests?

I suggest getting a tutor - it really helps - you can focus on your weak area. Also a tutor can give you test taking strategies customized to your needs.

I know this really isn’t an option for some people but I’d thought I should throw it out there anyhow. I took a review course once a week for like 9 sessions or something like that and jumped 240 points. Sure they are really pricey, but hey it helped and in my opinion I would much rather be in a classroom environment with my peers learning the skills once a week than bury myself in a book alone night after night. Just a thought

1890 to 2110 to 2240, but that was over the course of three years.

My first test was a 2140 because I stressed out a lot about it and took many practice tests. My second one was a 1970 because I didn’t study. Taking it in October, definitely studying lol.

Also I got 198 or something like that on the PSAT.

I had a tutor and it did not really help much seeing as I only went up 120 points… I really need to raise my scores for October!

730 in 7th grade (CR + M + W) LOLOLOLOL
175 PSAT sophomore year
2020 in october 2012 (junior year- first time)
2230 current superscore! (710 math, 720 reading, 800 writing, 12 essay)

lmao 1500 point increase over 4 years TOP THAT CC

100 point increase to 2260–>2360 using the blue book, taking about 4 practice tests in the week leading up to the SAT.

I attended a 10 week class that only brought my score up 60 points. 1750 to 1810. I plan on doing lots of practice tests this time

1st - 1740
2nd - 1960
practice tests now - 2100~
