How much homework do YOU have each night?

How much homework do you have each night on average. I find it crazy that people taking the same classes can spend an hour per night on homework while another person (with same classes) can spend 5 hours on the homework.

My time spent doing homework varies directly to the amount of tests I have the next day or projects due in the next week.

But if I have nothing to study for and no projects due, it takes about an hour.

Several hours, but it does vary day to day due to block scheduling.

Well, I always try to do as much hw as I can in school so I don't have to do anything at home. Sometimes I can't concentrate at home, so I could see why it takes people different amounts of times to do their hw. Some people get it the first time and can instantly do their hw, while some people have to look at their notes each time. When I do my hw at home, I'll daydream sometimes and stay on the same problem for 30 minutes.

It varies.
Homework: ~30 mins
Studying:~2 hrs

Not much. I only have 3 classes where the teachers assign actual homework, and even then we don't get homework every day. In fact, most of the days we just have to work on whatever project we happen to be doing at the time.

SENIOR YEAR FTW.

Let's see....

problem sets for physics and pre-calc honors with random english assignments= 1.5 hr

papers/lab reports= 2 hr

studying for AP Chem tests = 4-5 hrs with breaks in between.

It takes you 7.5-8.5 hours to do homework, kjcastillo?! I don't even have that much time after school!

None. :) I'm homeschooled. :)

start - 5:30
finish - 9:30

EVERY NIGHT.

I was hoping that the homework load would get lighter half way through the year. It didn't.

second semester senior.

half an hour a night. if that.

actually this weekend i dont have any.

none usually. some nights a whopping 15 minutes.
i do all my work, just not at home. i normally complete all of it in my ap stat class

I only get homework once in a while. We were hit with a Senior Project by the School Board shortly before midterms, and it came out of nowhere. Our teachers have been scarily lenient on us. The last real assignment (unrelated to the SP) I had in English AP was back in December, and that was the class that bogged me down with homework in the beginning of the year.

My Euro. History AP teacher never assigns homework, but studying for one of his tests takes an estimated 2 hours or less. Usually I study one hour the night before, and then read certain parts of the chapter the morning of. We get a test about once a week. I get homework about twice a week in Calculus AP, that takes about a half hour at the most, usually less.

My Physics teacher is a blockhead who doesn't know how to coordinate a lesson. He was decent in the beginning of the year with regular assignments, notes, and homework. Homework wouldn't take long unless it was on one of those lessons in which he rambled on for 50 minutes about something he couldn't explain. In that case, it took about 10 minutes to write down all the givens and set up the equations for each problem to make it look like I did my homework. After Christmas, I've basically gotten no homework from him. Coincidentally, I've learned nothing.

Those are my only "real classes." In the others, I just show up basically. All my "homework" is now centered around this Senior Project, which more than makes up for the lack of work.

let's see.... everyday i can count on:
-30 pages of nonfiction reading and a 1 page response to the reading
-ap lit homework- anything from taking notes to writing papers
-precal homework
so roughly 4-5 hours a night, depending on what our homework is in ap lit, and if i have spanish homework. I HATE AP lit. It takes me forever to write papers.
can't wait for senior year, particularly second semester

I have 5 AP's...

lets see on an average night...I can usually get away with about 30 minutes, nights before the tests...hmmm usually goes up to about 2 hours.

I dont see why people think 5 APs is so hard...

If I actually just sat down and did it, probably about an hour. 2-3 hours, tops.

I have about 1-2 hours each night.

I start at 4:45 and end at 11:30 on most nights (I also take frequent CC breaks). I have about 1 hour out of that in which I take my shower and eat dinner. That is mainly on one class because she doesn't teach us anything and gives us massive amounts of homework and very high expectations.

On most weekends, I spend Saturday from 2:00-10:00 doing homeworks. Most SUndays, I spend ~1.5 hours and then the rest of the time I spend doing chores.

I thought senior year was supposed to be easy and fun?!?!

Usually 2 1/2 to 3 hours a night of homework.
