We will be visiting campus and arriving by Amtrak at the Wilmington train station - I know there are busses, but we have a very tight day to get in and out.

Does anyone know how much a taxi from the station to campus is?

Thanks - unfortunately, we can't make the Amtrak schedule fit. We're coming from the north and on the Amtrak site there is only one train in and one train out each day. Seems like all the trains stop at Wilmington, but only a very limited (one) stop at Newark, DE.

Are there other options? I tried looking at the SEPTA sechedule, but couldn't figure it out...

Thanks - I did call, and finally got through (tried their IM tool, but that was a bust...). The SEPTA trains seem to have a big void after morning rush hour from WIL to NRK; but it does look like we can get one back after the tour. So to get there, the admissions office next suggested the Dart bus - but even they couldn't figure out how to read the schedule, so they gave me the phone # (1 800 355 8080 for reference); after a couple of prompts and transfers, it looks like either the #6 or #33 busses will do the trick.

They also gave me the # of a cab company, who was very unhelpful - worst case we can take a cab if we have to...

Did you try the Delaware Express? DD has used it many times for shuttle service between school and the airport. Always on time, polite and a reasonable cost. Perhaps they have train station pickup?

"...From the Wilmington train station, it is a 45-minute express bus ride to campus via the #6 DART bus; non-express buses may take slightly longer. Express buses run every half-hour at a cost of $1.90 each way. Limited taxi service to Newark from the Wilmington train station is also available..."

Thanks everybody - we ended up catching the Dart bus (there is a ticket office right at the train station) which was a FULL 45 minutes (seemed to stop everywhere). We managed to get the SEPTA back to Wilmington, to catch the Amtrak.
