I'm applying to BS for 10th grade next year, but I am in a very competitive pool (SK International) and I was wondering how much the SSAT counts for in boarding schools.

I don't think that my EC's would stand out extremely, but I did get a 98 percentile overall, with 99 on math and verbal, and 93 on reading.

Depending on which schools you are applying to, there may be many, many other applicants with those scores. Your best bet is to focus on something which sets you apart from the rest, and make sure that comes through in your application. Good luck!

Once you get above a certain threshold score, the SSAT probably doesn’t matter so much. It’s not like a 98% score will make a candidate compellingly more attractive than a candidate w a 92% score.

SSATs are used to find who is “gifted” enough for a school. At highly competitive Prep Schools the average SSAT is the 90-93 percentile. (Though at Exie I know someone who was in the 80th). The better the “hook” the less you need to worry about them.
