How much is too much (additional papers)

Ok, I have a lot of stuff that I want to send to colleges...extra stuff. I really do not want to overload them, but at the same time I don't want to ever say to myself "well, I wish I had sent such and such". Here are a list of things that I could possibly send btw these are to top schools like harvard yale princeton upenn....

-Additional essay if it takes it

-an additional recommendation from my mentor from this summer research program

-A resume of my activities and awards

I have a patent pending invention (from that internship), and from that I could send
-a copy of the official patent,
-a computer designed picture,
-a newspaper article all about my design/experience, it's really nice

BTW my long essay is all about that internship so I'm really playing that up as a possible hook, that's why I'm thinking about sending all of that.

Now the way I see it, they only have to look at what they want, however the way I see it really doesn't matter. What do you suggest are the most important things to send? Should I send it all? Will it take away from my application to overload them?

Any comments are greatly appreciated.

Bump.........

ares, these all sound essential to explaining who you are. By all means, send all of them.

bump bump ..

So no one else think that this might be too much?

dude, send as much DIFFERENT things to show who you are... too much would be sending like 2 Research papers....ok would be to submit a Research Paper and a MUSIC CD.... do you see the difference?
