How much is too much?

My friend is talking about the ACT; by the time all's said and done, he will have taken the ACT at least 5 times (we're juniors, he's taken it twice already, is taking it Saturday, and will take it two more times after that). I tell him I won't take it more than twice because it looks bad.

Is there any reason to not take the ACT as many times as possible?

This is what I know about the SAT, but to the best of my knowledge it’s for the ACT also. I don’t believe there is a reason not to take it as many times as you want. If you only do it twice and get a low score, when if you had taken it more you could have gotten a higher score, you’re just cheating yourself. Colleges don’t care how many times you take it.

^ This.

I agree, it doesn’t matter how many times you take something, it all comes down to if improved from the last attempt. I think it’s pretty darn smart to take more than once.
