So, say you REALLY REALLY want to go to the school you're transferring to...how do you go about telling them that if you're accepted you'd go in a heartbeat? And i'm not talking about Harvard, but a school ranked in the 20s nonetheless, but their transfer rate is around 40%, around 47% for the school im applying to. Should I write them a letter, or include it in my essays, or try to do both?

Hmm Im no expert but why can you not write include what you would have written in your letter in your personal statement or an addenum to your application. I'm not sure what the dangers are of going overboard so of course I would err on the side of caution.

Good luck.

if you have an interview, make it clear to your interviewer then.

which school conducts interviews?

chicago, wesleyan, and georgetown are the ones on my list that do.

how good is wesleyan i dont know much about it?

and g-town does alumni intervies how does taht work?

I didn't know about Wesleyan for a long time. It's a liberal arts college (small, primarily undergraduate), ranked 10th among LACs by USNews. It is considered one of the three little ivies, along with Amherst and Williams. It is known for its political activism and very liberal student body. It's certainly not for everyone...so be sure to look into it thoroughly.

As time has gone on, Wesleyan has become my #2 choice after Brown - the two are very similar, though Brown is, in my opinion, the better school, so I would likely go there instead if admitted.

Finally, Wesleyan has a great transfer rate (40% according to USNews) and has been the best school on my list so far at handling the transfer process. I am already able to check all of my materials as they are received and set up an interview.

What other schools were you looking into iwanatransfer? That may give me an idea as to whether you'd like Wes or not.

G-Town does alumni interviews like Chicago and Wes. You sign up on their website to meet someone in your area...the interviewer calls you and you go do your thing.

nah, no interviews...is sending a letter a bad idea? they have a section for "why ____? why are you leaving your current school?" and a "is there anything else you want us to know", but im that if i emphasis how good of a match the school and i are, and then send in a seperate letter saying that i have full intention to enroll if accepted, is it all too much?

it may sound cocky no?

and brand_182 im gona pm u

maybe i should just stick to the essays then haha

Yeah, I'd just put it in the essays.

actually, i thought of something easier...the online application does not have a space for a resume (they instead ask for the description of one or two big ones, then ask you how they influenced you or whatnot and why they were important to you), so i plan on sending in an additional resume, and i'll include a cover letter, and maybe ill just throw in a "if-you-accept-me-im-going-no-ifs-ands-buts" type thing there...i just want to do it pretty slyly so i dont look psychotic =P

just say it was the school you wanted to attend since you were 5. i think thats explicitly implying ?? hahha

Yeah... I told that to Rice... was admitted, and then turned down my spot. I guess they probably said to themselves: "now we know applicants don't mean it when they say that!"

ahhhhhhhhhhhh whyd you do that nspeds. u (#$&)$%$%&$(%
