Take a regular state university in your home state, and let us know (give or take a few dollars), how much it would cost an instate student to attend.
Combine tuition, room and board.

Here's one from New Jersey: Stockton State (which is similar in cost to Rowan, Rutgers, TCNJ, etc).

Total (remember, give or take a few bucks): $17,500

UWashington is $17,592, including $2,265 in personal expenses, and $396 travel. Evergreen and Western Washington University are about $1,600 cheaper than that.

Washington State, oddly enough, is a little bit more than UW.

Wow, Mini. I thought the east coast was high in state college costs. I had never looked at the west coast public school numbers other than what I had seen hear on the UCs which are reasonable until you get into room prices.

University of Colorado - Boulder
(The books/supplies numbers seem a little high to me.)

Colleges of Arts & Sciences, Education, Architecture, and Music
Tuition and Fees $5,643
On-Campus Room and Board $8,300
Books/Supplies $1,698
On-Campus Estimated Total $15,641

College of Engineering
Tuition and Fees $7,083
On-Campus Room and Board $8,300
Books/Supplies $1,698
On-Campus Estimated Total $17,081

College of Business
Tuition and Fees $8,343
On-Campus Room and Board $8,300
Books/Supplies $1,698
On-Campus Estimated Total $18,341

The Washington State University and University of Washington are both about $6k for tuition -- the rest of Mini's numbers were room, board, and other stuff.

Wyoming as a state puts major cash into the University to keep Tuition low. Wyo only has one 4 year university in the state so they get all the cash. All students who graduate from a Wyo HS with at least a 3.5 and 25 ACT attend tuition free. A 3.0 GPA and a 21 ACT will get you $2,400 a year for tuition. Even a 2.5 and a 19 ACT will get you $1600 a year. Natural Gas, Coal, and Oil money has Wyo rolling in dough right now. Almost every HS in the state is new or will be soon as the state is funding the building of new buildings

I checked a few of our state schools in Arkansas and came up with around
$8,000-$12,000 per year for tuition, fees, room and board depending on the school.
