How much longer will I stare at this status?!

Hey guys! Got accepted this morning into Engineering!! … But in Altoona… Is it worth my time to be in Altoona for 2 years? Anyone know if its the second best campus?

1690 SAT, 25 ACT, 3.8 unweighted, 5.6 weighted (although i dont know exactly how my school’s weighted GPA works…), but I am a first generation student… does that help any??

kindasortasmart, I think a third of PSU grads start at branch campuses, some like them enough to stay all four years. Many choose Altoona because of its proximity to UP. Whether or not it’s worth your time depends on your other options.

navjrb … did you get in? if you did…congrats and university park? when did you apply and when did you hear back?

havn’t heard back yet just wondering if that helps my chances any but yeah for UP and I sent my app on Oct 23

i dont know if that helps, im kind of new to this ha. but we have about the same grades/gpa and stuff so hopefully for both of us  i am DYING to hear back. its my first choice.

Clueless - Unfortunately PSU doesn’t superscore the ACT. I have the same ACT score and a 3.62 weighted and 3.64 unweighted GPA which is similar to you. Is your GPA weighted or unweighted (I think they use the unweighted, but do consider the weighted)? Also, did you apply to the summer program? I applied in early Oct and have had the same “we have all your info” message since that time.

PA2015 i only applied for fall …maybe i shouldve done summer i wasnt really thinking. and im not sure if its weighted actually but let me know if you get in and i will too since were in the same boat

kindasortasmart, I also got accepted into the College of Engineering today! Maybe they sent out a lot of acceptances for Engineering student today.

Altoona or UP?

Berks. Same requirements as Altoona or any other satellite campus.

Idk if this is a dumb question, I just picked Altoona just to really pick it… and it seems they only have stuff for engineering technologies which is NOT what i want… will i still take the courses i need for engineering? AND is Berks a second best campus if there is one?

thank you! happy holidays and i wish we all get in!!

Berks is a really popular branch campus. I have heard that it is really nice/pretty and it’s in a nice town. That is the satellite campus that I chose if I do not get accepted to main, although i’m not sure if I will go to PSU if I do not get accepted to main so I hope i get accepted to UP haha.

Changed this morning to: Thank you for applying to Penn State. Your application has been received and is being reviewed. An admission decision will be posted here in the coming days.
Time line: Application sent November 6th- sat/act recieved November 14-
November 22 “all in and reviewing application”- December 3rd “coming days”…

Does it always change to the “coming days” message before a decision is rendered, or is it possible to go from the standard “a decision will be available here as soon as one is made” message straight to a decision message?

3beesinc - I predict you will hear Monday. My status changed to the one you have on a Friday and I was accepted online on Monday. Also received my letter on Monday which was dated Friday. Good Luck !

PA2015 - I think the acceptances have been following the pattern 3beesinc described lately.

Thanks! Long weekend!!

I check every day hoping to see the “coming days” status…but it never changes. I just want to hear already!!!

Not trying to play “who has it worse” but it’s much more frustrating to have the status that says you’ll be notified when in a decision is made. It’s like come ON! Where is the “coming days” status?
