I applied within 5 days of application process opening. I will post my stats whether if accepted or rejected after I get my decision. I don’t have the greatest stats so I don’t want to post them here for others to judge before I know my PSU decision. I’m very skeptical.

YAY Thank you for applying to Penn State. Your application has been received and is being reviewed. An admission decision will be posted here in the coming days. I hope i get accepted Good luck to all you guys out there !

ACCEPTED!
Into Eberly College of Science.
Its weird though my status went from “coming days” to notification in
under 24 hours.

Oh and it was down for me too…so it may have changed earlier.

In any case good luck to everyone who is still waiting to hear! :)

ACCEPTED
Congratulations on your acceptance to Penn State!

I am pleased to offer you admission to The Smeal College of Business for Fall 2011 at Penn State University Park. I hope that the information provided on this page will help give you a head start on thinking about your offer to Penn State.

My Stats:
I only received a 1600 on my SATS
My GPA on the other hand was a 4.0 (92 out of 100)
Mostly honors courses
In State

I’m so excited that they could see past my mediocre SATs and accept me.

My d’s stats are a little different than yours(lower gpa, 3.47W, but 2050 sat) and she heard last week. They cannot place her into the graphic design program, but asked her to resubmit a second choice major. Her counselor called admissions on Monday. They told us the program is extremely competitive and basically she was turned down on the basis of her poster project. We will email in another major today or tomorrow but she is not as excited about a non art major. They told us at this point all arts/architecture programs will be extremely competitive. good luck!

JimG: Congratulations. I am very happy for you!

Congrats Jim! My stats are similar (3.96W 1840) so I’m hoping for an acceptance from Smeal soon!

Has anyone been accepted who applied after November 30th?

No status change for me after the site was down. Grrrrr, so frustrating!

ccarolsg, some have, but they had really high stats

Not sure I’d you are aware but you can send a letter of appeal. My son did not get in sent in a letter of appeal andis now a junior at smeal. We are now waiting for my daughters acceptance, she applied in mid October and we are still waiting. The letter also confirms your interest in attending psu.

yes got my acceptances today i am so happy good luck to the rest of you !!!

Congrats! :D

I just received the “coming days” status. I really hope this means acceptance. I am a community college student transferring from oos. I will update as soon as I know anything.

Why is the Bubble chart so different than the stats PSU self reported on MomofBoston’s post? (Thanks MOB I think these make more sense anyway)

The way I figure PSU’s actual stats had 25% of their accepted kids had less than 1620 SAT scores? And if I figure out an average between the 25-75th percentile I get like a average 50th percentile bench mark of like 1775 as average.
Then it says last years class has an average GPA of 3.53? I checked the “Bubble chart” and their AVERAGE enrolled kid (50% higher 50% lower) is still mid yellow bubbles? And I added a couple GPA points for weighting.

Anyone else notice this?

i am seriously going crazyyyyyyyy, it’s been 2 and a half months of the same “we are reviewing your credentials” status! so much for rolling…

and @likelyhood, i have noticed the same thing. I believe the bubble chart kind of refers to the ideal students University Park accepts, but fails to represent the students with lower stats that often get accepted, scare tactics !

Don’t fear alb, I got into UP with stats in keeping with avergageish REAL PSU stats as opposed to the Ideal, they wish, bubble stats. The people I know who also recently got accepted were no where near the bubble statistics. Other than those glitch kids that heard first, they seemed to take the cream (4.1 gpa 2100+ sat and top 10 percent) and are working toward the kids that are more likely to attend and actually make up their freshman class! Maybe it is a strategy to make us wait and really want it!!! Are you in any other schools yet? It makes the wait suck less! Good luck!

thanks likelyhood!–trying to stay positive
i recently got into rutgers, which is nice security but my ideal school would be penn state without a doubt!

Yeah engineering… I applied 3 months ago and haven’t heard anything. I guess they’ve kept mine because I’m on the bubble

“Coming days” status for over 48 hours now. Going crazy…
