how much longer?

how fast does Case give an answer? or do i have to wait untill Jaunary?
I did EA and I really want to know SOON!

My daughter applied last year EA and did not hear until late December. It was after Christmas. She did get in with a large merit scholarship.

.... i probably hear from my other schools before i hear from case.

way2bizEnow,

May I be so bold as to ask how much is a large merit scholarship and if you don't apply EA when do you find out if you got in? Thanks.

She received $15,000 per year ($60,000) for all 4 years. We were not expecting anything, she just really loved the school. She did receive small $3,000 - $7,000 from several state schools, but the amount that Case gave her really sealed the deal. This was our first child applying to school and we had an idea that we would not qualify for financial aid, so the merit money was nice and unexpected. Also, it really made my child feel wanted!

Wow, that's great way2bizEnow. I'm glad to hear you and your D are having a great experience with Case. It's always great to feel that the school wants you just as much as you want to be at that school.

stowmom, the academic scholarships generally start at half tuition per year and go up in 2 increments of $5k per year on top of that. There are also talent scholarships that can be of various amounts.

I know 2 years ago (a record year), EA decisions were still coming out in mid January, but RD decisions started coming out in early March (maybe some even in February). There's been a rumor that applying early gives a better chance at scholarships, because once the money is offered, it's gone.

ahhh January is sooo far away!
oh and did anyone do an interview?
i'm doing one in two days

My daughter did a home-town interview. I think it really helps.

I did an interview on campus, it was with a student though. I think it went well and hopefully it will help.

was is a lot of Q and A or more of a discussion?

it was more of a Q&A

At the Nov. 18 Get Connected session at Case, we were told that they hope to have notifications on EA applications out "before the holidays." It doesn't sound like they send them out on a rolling basis the way some schools do.

holidays? like winter break?

Would you mind if I asked what stats were for large merit aid?

does CWRU have a combined bs/md program

yes they do. it's 8 years

I'm dying to know too! My status says that a counselor is "reviewing my app", should I expect a decision soon or is it always like this?
