How much merit aid will duquesne give me?

I am a rising high school senior. I visited Duquesne and fell in love with it! However, I do not believe I qualify for much need based aid and Duquesne is rather pricey. I heard that Duquesne gives out quite a lot of scholarships, supposedly 99% of freshman get a scholarship, and the minimum scholarship is 12k a year (this is what I was told at the information session). My stats are…
SAT: 1950 (super-scored)
CR: 640
W: 630
M:680

ACT: 28

GPA: 3.85 UW, 4.2 W

5 APs, 10 Honors Freshman - Senior year

Creator and Co-President of Crafts For Kids Club
In Habitat for Humanity, Literary Magazine, Ski Club, Stage Crew (former assistant stage manager, future head of sound)
NHS, Music Honors Society, and Italian Honors Society member
Community Service Organizer for a 4H Music Club
Dancing for 12 years
Volunteer at a dance school, hospital, and animal hospital
Worked at After School Program and Aeropostale

I think it would be well worth your time to do some SAT prep or ACT prep these last few weeks of summer and retake in the fall.

Two years ago when my D applied, they gave out a minimum of $10,000 and maximum of $20,000 in academic merit scholarship.

What is your major?

Have you run their Net Price Calculator on the school’s web site?

What the CDS states http://www.duq.edu/Documents/institutional-research/_pdf/cds/CDS_2015-2016.pdf is 99% of freshmen get either need based or merit aid. The average merit aid received was $12K (not minimum). The average need based aid received was $24K. Since Tuition, Room and Board = $46K that still leaves a good amount to pay.

I think Duquesne’s NPC used to give you a merit estimate, but the last time I tried to use it, it was pretty generic from what I remember. I don’t think it asked for GPA/test scores.

The application was free (before Dec 15), and online and they accepted SAT scores reported on transcript I believe.

My D wrote an essay (optional), and sent in a LOR.

I would definitely try to mention your volunteering and other EC activities in your essay if possible.

Yes, the NPC is from 2014/15 and only asks a few questions about family size and income.
