<p>This thread might be more helpful if the scholarship money was listed only for the school that the student actually intends to attend - and the cost for that school was also listed (so we could see how much of an impact these scholarships actually have). </p>
<p>In other words, if a student got a "$100,000 scholarship to Emory"- that still leaves about $80,000 that the student is responsible for over the 4 year period - which is a lot of debt to take on (in our case, entirely too much). That $100,000 scholarship is less meaningful than a $50,000 scholarship to a less expensive school.</p>
