Just wondering how much money on average you spend per week on whatever random stuff you happen to need .. laundry, food, movies, concerts, other events, toiletries, clothes, etc.

a couple hundred a month...ish...it really varies how much my friends want to go out, buying gifts for people, what time of year, etc

400/month.. but that incldues car insurance, car payment, cell phone, groceries, gas, and other random things (eating out, going to the movies, the bar, etc)..

sometimes more than 400, rarely less..

I spend as little as possible. Money is something I have very little of.

I spend about $1400 over three months on everything not directly related to rent or tuition. That includes text books, utilities (including cable TV and cable internet :D), entertainment, eating out, groceries, and anything else.

Not including car insurance and stuff (I don't know about that because my parents pay it)- so I'm just including things I buy- toiletries, going out, doing whatever, my guess is I spend about $450-$500 a month. I tend to buy clothes often and eat out once or twice a week. But I think you could definitely do it on less. I mean, I've done weeks where I spent like $5. It totally depends on how "luxuriously" you want to live.

Just stuff for fun, maybe 200-250 a month.

Though it may be more if you play poker like I do...always trying to win back what you spend.

thats a good question. my parents are paying for tuition and books and a meal plan, but i'm paying for the small things like toiletries, clothes, gifts, trips, laundry etc. i'm trying to save money to go to korea next summer so i want to spend as little as possible. what is a reasonable but tight budget for someone who is trying to SAVE as much money as possible?

It also depends on if you have a job or not. I saved up money to backpack in eastern europe for spring break, and did that and didn't have to ask my parents for a dime for that trip. I make about $240 a month, an I just combine that with what I already had saved. I mean, I truly believe that in most colleges you could live on less thatn $50 a week....at my school you could live on $5 a week.

if you eat on the meal plan and don't go shopping, really the only thing you need to spend weekly is for laundry. And more shampoo when you run out etc, but other than that, it's all extra stuff you'll be spending money on (I came back with way more clothes than I went down with...)

I think about $50/month, but that's going to school in a rural area. The biggest expense is booze, and ordering food late at night.
