I am trying to figure out what I can afford to purchase for school, but I dont know what number I need to shoot for to be left in my account. Keeping time contraints of a college student in mind, how much money can a student expect to spend per semester on entertainment, activities, food, and any other miscelaneous expenditures (other than class related costs such as books and materials)? Could you provide a breakdown of where your money goes?

I think the huge variable is entertainment. Seriously, that’s one of the major expenses, at least for people who go out a lot. My S actually spent very little this year, but most of his entertainment was the free kind (hanging out with friends, going to free/cheap activities on or around campus, etc.)

Will you be living on campus? If so you’ll be required to have a meal plan, which will take care of much of your food-related expenses. For an on-campus student, transportation also isn’t a factor since the bus system is free.

I think it would be tough for anyone to give you even a ballpark estimate of your expenses without knowing more about what kind of lifestyle you plan to have while at UPark.

FYI: If you run out of money while on campus, it’s very easy for your parents or someone else to put money into your LionCash account (if they are willing/able).
