how much of a difference between a 760 in lit and higher?

should i retake? i figure it's only an hour of my time and i think i could get higher. would an 800 really look that much better? i have a 750 in sat i reading and an 800 in sat i writing, along with publication in poetry anthologies and other writing awards so i don't feel like i need to "prove" my skillzz in english.

so what do you think? would a score increase improve my application at all?

A 760 is an extremely high score in SAT II Lit, putting you in the top 4% of the 120,000 or so students in your age cohort taking the test. These 120,000 are by and large very strong students who are taking SAT IIs because they hope to get into the elite colleges that require these tests. In addition, in deciding which SAT IIs to take, students tend to self-select for their strongest subjects. So the top 4% of students taking these tests is a pretty elite group. Consequently there’s every reason to believe your 760 will be seen as a very strong score by any college you apply to.

On the other hand, a 790 or 800 would put you in the top 1% of students taking SAT II Lit. So if you’ve got nothing better to do . . .
